Mar 2 The Colorado I Have A Dream Foundation 3rd Annual Corporate Internship Breakfast |
Now in its sixth year, The Colorado I Have A Dream Foundation - Work is Success Internship Program (WISIP) prepares and places high school youth in 6-10 week summer internships with some of Denver's top small businesses, corporations, law and medical offices, higher education institutions, and government agencies.
The main goals of the program are to provide students with an opportunity to:
* Gain firsthand experience in the workplace
* Create and expand professional and social networks
* Expand industry knowledge
Throughout the spring, Dreamers will participate in a 5-week WISIP Career Academy to focus on soft-skills, technical skills and career exploration. Students leave the Academy with an understanding of workplace expectations and how each internship will assist with their ultimate career goals. In addition, Dreamers will work on their resumes and attend professional development sessions after school and on Saturday mornings leading up to their WISIP interviews in May.
The internships will begin the week of June 5th and end on August 11, 2017.
