Mule-farming in rural Alabama is the focus of Thordis Simonsen’s evocative black and white photograph exhibition that documents vestiges of a quickly vanishing way of life. A lifelong friendship with Sara Brooks, an Alabama native, allowed Thordis to capture a rare glimpse into the life of an African-American farming community.

Your opportunity to meet Dr. Kim Hunter Reed,  Executive Director of the Colorado Dept. of Education.  Dr. Hunter Reed served in President Obama’s administration with the U.S. Department of Education.  She led the postsecondary diversity and inclusion work and supports strong student and outcomes focused policies.  Hunter Reed also led the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
